# Shopify app (no code)

> Install the TryYourSize app, sync your catalog, and add the Size guide block in the theme editor. No code.

> **For your developer**
>
> **What it does:** Installs the TryYourSize Shopify app, which syncs our clothing products and adds a 'Size guide' block to the product page in the theme editor. No code. Shoppers' sizes (never measurements) are shown and can preselect the size option.
>
> **Time needed:** About 30 minutes in the Shopify admin, plus garment data in TryYourSize Studio.
>
> **What to send them:** No keys: the app creates and installs them. A staff account on the Shopify store with permission to install apps and edit the theme.

> **Note**
>
> The app is in a private pilot (unlisted). Ask [sales@tryyoursize.com](mailto:sales@tryyoursize.com) for the install link.

1. **Install the app** from the link we send you, and open it in your Shopify admin.

2. **Set up, one click.**
   - New to TryYourSize: **Create a TryYourSize account**. You become the owner with your Shopify email (sign in to Studio with it).
   - Already a customer: in Studio → Integrations, **Connect Shopify** and enter your shop; then in the app, **Link to this store**.

Setup verifies your `*.myshopify.com` host and primary domain (this counts as [domain verification](https://docs.tryyoursize.com/get-started/going-live.md#verify-your-domain)), registers them as allowed sites, and installs a publishable key in your theme. The store starts in **test mode**.

3. **Your catalog syncs.** Clothing products become TryYourSize products (the product ID is the Shopify **handle**), with their size option, a proposed **size map** ("Medium" → M), the category from Shopify's product taxonomy, a proposed fabric composition from the description, and proposed **fit groups** for colourways. Product changes in Shopify are synced automatically.

4. **Add garment data in Studio.** For each style, a designer enters or imports the garment: sizes, points of measure per size and fabric, then publishes it. Until a garment is published, live shoppers get no size for that product.

5. **Turn on the app embed.** Online Store → Themes → **Customize** → **App embeds** → turn on **TryYourSize** → Save. (The app's page has a direct link.)

6. **Add the Size guide block.** In the product template, **Product information** section → **Add block** → **Apps** → **Size guide**. Drag it next to the variant picker. Settings: **Style** (link or outlined button), **Alignment**, **Label**, and **Preselect the recommended size** (off by default). Save.

7. **Go live** in Studio when you are ready ([Going live](https://docs.tryyoursize.com/get-started/going-live.md)). The next time you open the app, it installs a **live** key in your theme, with no theme change.

## Preselecting the size

With **Preselect the recommended size** on, the block selects the shopper's size in your size picker (Dawn-style pills and dropdowns are supported). It never overrides the shopper: not after they change the picker, not when the URL has `?variant=`, not twice per page, and never to a sold-out or disabled value. Otherwise the size is only shown.

## Orders and returns

The recommended size goes to the cart line as the hidden line property `_tys_size` (size only, no shopper data), and the A/B visitor ID as `_tys_vid`. With your permission (optional `read_orders` / `read_returns` scopes), TryYourSize reads orders and returns to report size-related returns, and can import the last 60 days. See [Orders and returns](https://docs.tryyoursize.com/guides/outcomes.md).

## Languages

The block's storefront text and editor labels are in English, Spanish, French, German and Italian.

## Uninstalling

Uninstalling disconnects the store, removes the theme key and the domains verified through Shopify. Products and garments you authored in Studio stay in your TryYourSize account.
